The Dutch Thrombosis Service is a member of the Dutch Federation of Thrombosis Services and is informed of new developments by the bulletin of the Federation.

Membership of the Federation also means participation in the quality control of the Federation. This control consists of a bi-monthly determination of blood samples be sent to the Netherlands and which result is also determined by a central laboratory in the Netherlands. The results are then compared to each other. In addition, the INR check-point and the laboratory from Netherlands visited every two years for a general control.

INR-check at home is only possible in situations where this is necessary.

If you go for the first time to the Dutch Thrombosis Service you are requested to take the following information:

• the health insurance card from your health care insurance
• letter or card from the thrombosis service in your country
• indication of your last dosage
• address in Spain
• possibly telephone number in Spain.
