Sleep apnoea registration

During a polygraph examination, we measure whether you have obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS).

Sleep apnoea syndrome

Fatigue and/or daytime sleepiness? Sleep apnoea syndrome is a common condition that often goes unrecognised; we only know ‘the tip of the iceberg’, so to speak. Besides being annoying, Sleep Apnoea Syndrome can also be very dangerous; it poses a greatly increased risk of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack and cerebral infarction. If you have Sleep Apnoea Syndrome, the risk of (traffic) accidents is much higher and it can cause high blood pressure and cardiac arrhythmias. Besides the symptoms of daytime sleepiness and general fatigue, many patients suffer from snoring, obesity and/or high blood pressure, however, this is not always the case.

The study

Sleep Apnoea Syndrome can be diagnosed using a Sleep Apnoea Test. A special data recorder is used to collect data on your breathing, heart rhythm, blood oxygen levels and snoring. This data is read into the computer and analysed by the pulmonologist. Depending on the results, you will be given treatment recommendations. You will be given the device to take with you to your accommodation address.

Duration of the study

1 night

Results of the study

After the pulmonologist's assessment, you will receive the results and, if necessary, treatment advice.
