LABORATORY ANALYSES
In Euro Clínica Rincón you can get your blood work done and you can also deliver other materials intended for laboratory research. Our outpatient clinic works closely with a local research laboratory. For blood collection and other materials such as urine and faeces, you do not need to make an appointment. You can stop by Monday-Friday between 8:30 am and 12:00 am.
After 12:00 am we can unfortunately no longer attend you, because all the laboratory equipment around that time gets collected by courier for the research laboratory. Materials can´t be kept until the next day.
We appreciate you using the urine and faeces hygienic packaging. You can get these free in the clinic during opening hours. These jars are also available at the pharmacy.For some research you must be sober. This means that you are allowed to eat anything 12 hours before the examination and/or drink (except for water). Your doctor will inform you about this. You may take your medicines unless your doctor tells you explicitly not to do so.
Het procedure
The nurse will call you for your blood collection. She will also ask for your name and date of birth to avoid mistaken identity and to ensure that your doctor gets the correct results. After a tourniquet is placed on your arm, one or more tubes of blood will be drawn. After drawing blood it is important to put pressure on the puncture site for a minute to avoid bleeding or a bruise. Sometimes bruising will occur. This is annoying, but will automatically disappear after a few days. You don´t have to worry about this.
